Do you see CPU go up on the server when opening or forwarding one of the emails?

Could you run the diagnostic & see whether Java is frozen somewhere calling something? http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21652008&cm_mc_uid=80865284742314750688138&cm_mc_sid_50200000=1475068813
